Mission

In recognition of the St. Louis community’s rich tradition of arts innovation and virtuosity, Missouri Ballet Theatre seeks to inspire and cultivate excellence in contemporary and classical dance:

• Through distinctive collaborations with area arts organizations, performers, and musicians to explore the fusion of movement with other forms of artistic expression;

• By providing a platform for well-trained and focused dancers to flourish in a stimulating and nurturing environment; and

• By espousing artistic enrichment through educational outreach, youth participation, and charitable partnerships.

As it enters its third season, Missouri Ballet Theatre (MBT) will continue to expand and reinvent the art of dance through collaboration with St. Louis-area arts organizations, musicians, theater, and dance studios.

Comprised of 14 dancers from throughout the country, MBT strives to provide high-quality productions of classical ballet’s most beloved works, as well as showcase movement as a unique experience that complements and inspires the work of artists from other media. Additionally, the company is dedicated to introducing the richness of the dance tradition to schoolchildren and others through its student performances and educational outreach programs.

Missouri Ballet Theatre relies on the support, direction and creative inspiration of many different people. The combined efforts of our Artistic Directors, Dancers and Board of Directors help bring to fruition our vision of delivering innovative, collaborative, and diverse world-class dance to St. Louis and the midwest.
